Saint Cecilia
20cm x 25cm
Painted, stained, and enameled glass.
This head of St. Cecilia is modelled after a section of an original which forms part of a window in Gloucester Cathedral which was designed by Christopher Whall. It is a good illustration of Victorian/ Arts and crafts stained Glass style. Compared to the medieval style of John the Baptist you can see that the tone is built up in layers giving a more natural effect to the face.
